When the hottest days of summer hit, I like to cool down my style with shades of mint. It’s fresh, cheerful, and playful — and if you’re daring, you can still “bring the heat” by pairing it with a bold color. To demonstrate, I threw together this little mint dress coordinate just for fun! (And also for new branding photos and headshots, as you’ve probably noticed.)

Matching a Mint Dress With Bright Contrasts
Every summer, I like to add a new staple dress to my wardrobe. I’ve been trending towards a more vintage-inspired look lately (it’s my historical costumer side taking over, so it would seem), and when I saw this mint dress during Amazon’s Prime Day sale, I just had to have it! The mint fabric was so eye-catching amidst all the warmer summer colors, and the delicate flower pattern was equally unique.
Based on the product photos, I figured the dress may be a little droopy on its own. I tossed a simple petticoat underneath to ensure the skirt was perfectly poofy.
Rather than stick with orange or peach, I decided to play up the red in the flowers by pairing the mint dress with my favorite crimson pumps. (The heel looks a lot more intimidating than it actually is; the built-in platform makes these shoes super comfortable.)
And, of course, a matching handbag always helps to complete the look! I’ve had this clutch for years but it’s withstood the test of time and has been a fantastic coordinate for many outfits in its day.

Despite having a degree in fashion design, I can’t say I’m a style guru… But I do enjoy throwing together the occasional cute look! Are you interested in seeing more style photoshoots and lookbooks? Drop me a comment or let me know!
